ViresPrivacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Vires app (“Vires,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Vires is operated by Joseph Rodriguez, trading as a sole proprietor in the United States, who is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at supportvires@gmail.com.

1. Information you provide

When you create an account and set up your plan, we collect:

2. Information created as you use the app

We do not collect precise location or contacts, and we don’t access your photo library beyond the single photo or screenshot you choose to add. We read Apple Health only if you connect it, and only the categories listed above.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3a. Legal bases (EU/EEA & UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your information on these bases:

4. How your information is stored and shared

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), provided by Google LLC, which we use to run the app’s accounts, database, and hosting. Access is restricted by security rules so that only your authenticated account can read or write your data. Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider; see the Firebase Privacy and Security information for details.

The AI Coach. When you chat with the Vires Coach, the messages you send — together with the parts of your plan and progress the coach needs to answer (your program, profile, and recent training) — are processed on our secure server and by Anthropic, the AI provider that powers the coach’s replies. Anthropic processes this data to generate the response and, under its commercial API terms, does not use it to train its models. Your coach conversation history (the most recent messages) is stored with your account so the chat picks up where you left off. See Anthropic’s privacy policy for details.

Workout screenshots. A screenshot you add is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and to Anthropic, which reads the workout details from it under the same terms as the AI Coach above. We don’t store the image — only the figures read from it are saved with your account.

Subscriptions. Vires Pro is sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system: Apple processes your payment, and we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your Vires account ID (a random identifier, not your name or email), the purchase records Apple provides, and the basic device and app information needed to validate purchases, and it tells our server whether your subscription is active. See Apple’s privacy policy and RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

The “Watch how to do it” buttons open a YouTube search in your browser or the YouTube app. That interaction is governed by Google/YouTube’s privacy policy; we do not send them your personal information.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

4a. International transfers

Our providers (Google, Anthropic, and RevenueCat) store and process data on servers that may be located in the United States. Where your data is transferred out of the EU/EEA or the UK, these providers rely on approved safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses. If you use Vires from outside the U.S., you understand your information is processed in the countries where our providers operate.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your account and its associated data from our active systems, except where we’re required to retain certain records by law. Backups are cycled out on a routine schedule.

6. Your rights and choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your information. Most details can be edited directly in the app (Settings → “Change my plan”), and you can delete your account and all of its data yourself in Settings → Delete account. For anything else — a copy of your data, a correction we don’t expose in the app — email supportvires@gmail.com from your account email address.

If you’re in the EU/EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA. We honor all of these requests, and we’ll respond within the timelines the law sets (generally 30 days).

7. Children’s privacy

Vires is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled storage, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here. Your continued use of Vires after an update means you accept the revised policy.
